As the proud owners of a record 27 World Series championships and 40 American League pennants, the Bronx Bombers stand in a class by themselves. A total of 44 Yankees players and 11 Yankees managers have been inducted into Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame. This lot features an elaborate, matted and framed presentation piece that boasts 52 authentic signatures from former Yankee players and/or managers. Measuring 42” wide by 35” high, intricately designed item sports a total of 13 cut signatures from some of the biggest names in team history: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, Thurman Munson, Roger Maris, Billy Martin, Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter, Derek Jeter and Don Mattingly. The center of the overall frame boasts a color print of the old Yankee Stadium with a flag reading: “Champions American League 1952.” In the sky portion of the painting are another 45 authentic signatures of Yankee greats from years gone by including names like Roy White, Craig Nettles, Ron Bloomberg, Jimmy Wynn, Moose Skowron, Enos Slaughter, Paul Blair and Goose Gossage. An incredible collection of scrawls from some of the greatest players who ever donned pinstripes!
