The late Don Drysdale, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984, was a legendary right-handed pitcher for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers. He played 14 seasons for the Blue Crew and posted an overall record of 209-166. He won his only Cy Young Award in `1962 after leading the team with a record of 25-9 and a league-leading 232 K’s. For good measure, Drysdale pitched 19 complete games.
This lot features Drysdale a group of four different Los Angeles Dodgers New Era Pro Model baseball caps and one Brooklyn Dodger Throwback model cap from the mid-to-late 1980s when he served as both a spring training coach for the Dodgers as well as a regular participant in the team’s annual Old Timers Game. Two of the caps (size 7 1/2) sport leather liners and are likely from the 1985-87 seasons. The others (size 7 5/8) appear to be 1988-93 models. None of the baseball caps show any significant signs of wear. Nevertheless, they all come straight from the Don Drysdale personal memorabilia collection.
Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
