The late Don Drysdale was a Hall of Fame pitcher who made his major league debut as a member of the then-Brooklyn Dodgers during the 1956 MLB season. The 19-year-old right-hander tallied a record of 5-5 in 12 starts and fanned batters during his rookie campaign. The following season, he recorded a team-high 17 victories in 29 starts. Following the winter of 1957, the Dodgers made their way out west and settled in Los Angeles. This lot features Drysdale's circa 1958 game-worn Dodgers baseball cap, the team's first season in L.A. The size 7 3/8 Dodger blue, KM Pro Cap, manufactured by Tim McAuliffe Inc., shows exceptional game use with discoloration throughout due to heavy sweating during games and includes the stitched-in white “LA” for Los Angeles logo on the front. An incredible and memorable piece of game-used baseball memorabilia from the start of Drysdale’s impressive career in the City of Angels!
Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
