Here’s something you don’t see every day. Besides hundreds of baseball-related memorabilia and awards, Dodgers’ pitching great Don Drysdale also had some interesting political pieces amongst his personal collection. This lot features his silver-plated 1961 John F. Kennedy U.S. Presidential Inauguration cigarette box. The top of six-inch wide by 1.5” tall box is engraved with the announcement of JFK’s inauguration as President and Lyndon Baines Johnson as Vice President of the United States on January 20, 1961, complete with the Kennedy-Johnson Inauguration seal at the top. Though quite tarnished after 55 years, it remains a very unique piece of historical political memorabilia.
