Longtime ace Dave Stewart shined when it mattered most: October. A 20-game winner four straight years for his hometown Oakland A’s (1987-90), “Smoke” started the ’89 All-Star Game for the American League and later that year was named MVP of the 1989 Fall Classic (Bay Bridge Series). The three-time World Series champ also took home MVP honors in the 1990 and ’93 ALCS, respectively. “Stew” got his final ring with the Toronto Blue Jays in ’93, retiring with 168 career victories along with 10 playoff wins and an impressive 2.77 postseason ERA.

1989 was Stewart’s most accomplished season. He went 21-9 with a 3.32 ERA to finish second in the A.L Cy Young voting and then went a perfect 4-0 in his four postseason starts for the A’s. First, he shut down the Blue Jays in the ALCS, winning Game 1 and the Game 5 clincher. Next, he hurled a complete-game shutout in Game 1 of the World Series. After the tragic Loma Prieta Earthquake postponed the series, Stew pitched seven strong to win Game 3, setting up Oakland’s sweep over the Giants and locking up the MVP award.

For his herculean efforts that year, Stewart was awarded this 1989 World Championship 10-karat gold ring. The face has a large real diamond set inside a baseball infield diamond atop a green stone surrounded by 20 smaller round-cut diamonds. The perimeter reads “WORLD CHAMPS" and "OAKLAND ATHLETICS". One shank displays the "1989 World Series Battle of the Bay" logo with the World Series trophy below. Other shank has "STEWART" and his uniform No. “34” along with the famous Athletics elephant holding a “WORLD SERIES CHAMPS” flag. Stamped inside the band are “JOSTENS” and "10K" (partially rubbed out from usage). The size 11 ring (40 grams) shows quite a bit of wear so you know it meant a lot to Stew, as well it should.

Includes LOA signed by Dave Stewart (printed in B&W and signed in black pen).
