Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. The Yankee teammates are two of baseball's most revered Hall of Famers as well as two of the most collectible. As teammates, the dynamic duo led the Bronx Bombers to championship glory in the Roaring Twenties and early 1930's, giving Americans hope and an escape from the harsh realities brought on by the Great Depression. Off the field, they were like oil and water -- Babe, the center of attention who could do no wrong, and Lou, a well-educated and modest gentleman who'd rather stay out of the limelight.

When paired on dual-signed baseballs, the Bambino almost always takes the sweet spot, with Gehrig contently confined to a side panel. On this stunning dual-autographed page, however, it is the Iron Horse who stands out the most, signing above Ruth in bold black ink with the last name "Gehrig" still holding the thick strokes of the near century-old fountain pen. The style of each signature appears to date this piece to the mid-late 1920's when Babe was in his prime and Gehrig was entering his own. PSA/DNA, who has labeled it a cut on the jumbo holder, has graded the page a NM-MT 8 combined. In our eyes, Gehrig looks closer to 9/10 with Ruth a solid 8/10. In any regard, it stands as one of the finer dual-signed examples you'll find from the two legends.
