Original Type I photograph of Lew Alcindor near the start of his pro career with the Milwaukee Bucks. Labeled "Alcindor" on the reverse in pencil, it appears to be taken before he officially began using his Arabic name publicly in 1971. Taken directly behind the basket, the image provides a unique angle of the 7' 2" center about to take a foul shot. Much later, as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA's career scoring leader autographed the image in silver marker. We cannot verify this as being a true "rookie" season image, but it very well could be. Very tough to find vintage Type I's signed by the subject, especially one of Jabbar's prestige, that are nearly flawless in quality and condition like this example.
