During his time in St. Louis power forward Bill Bridges was named an NBA All-Star in 1967 and 1968 and earned the dubious honor of racking up 366 personal fouls during the 1967–68 season, an NBA record at the time. This Hawks jersey was worn by Bill Bridges during the team’s St. Louis years. Since Bridges joined the Hawks in 1963 and the team relocated to Atlanta after the 1968 season, this jersey can be dated to this period. The white jersey has “HAWKS” across the front with Bridges’ number “32” below in red and navy tackle twill. The neck, arm openings and sides are trimmed in red, white, and navy. A Rawlings size 44 label is sewn inside the jersey along with a cleaning instructions tag. The back repeats Bridges’ number “32” in red and navy tackle twill. The jersey exhibits great game use with overall toning from age and some staining and scuffing throughout. The tackle twill graphics display some puckering from repeated laundering and there are stray treads present, though none of this distracts from the display quality of this piece.
