Presented here is an immaculate circa 1960s Bob Cousy Boston Celtics worn fleece home warm-up jacket. The jacket is a white fleece seven-button front manufactured by Horace Partridge. "CELTICS" is radially arched across the front in green and yellow outlined twill. The name "COUSY" is sewn in yellow twill to a green nameplate which is affixed on the rear with several buttons. The collar and sleeves feature Celtic colors throughout as well. Cousy has autographed the inside of the jacket near the collar in clean, black permanent marker. A Horace Partridge Athletic goods size 44 manufacturer tag is sewn into the back of the collar. Partridge is the correct manufacturer for this era and the tagging matches existing exemplars. The jacket shows evidence of laundering and wear, which would be expected for a jacket worn for an entire season.
Cousy had an amazing NBA career with the Celtic from 1950 through 1963 in which he made the NBA All-Star team in 13 consecutive seasons. He won six NBA championships with the Boston Celtics and received NBA MVP honors for his efforts during the 1957 campaign. He led the NBA in assists for a record 8 consecutive seasons ('53-'60) and has been included on the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. The Boston Celtics have retired his number (14) and it remains in the rafters at the TD Garden. Cousy was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1971. This warm-up jacket is accompanied by a full LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (Cert. #: 220106M2), MEARS and a full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services for the autograph.
