Directly from the family estate collection of Barney Stein comes this large-format 11" by 14" original photograph of Jackie Robinson taking a big lead off third base against the New York Yankees. The patriotic bunting in the stands and Jackie's home white Brooklyn Dodgers uniform indicate this had to be during a 1950s World Series game at Ebbets Field -- perhaps just before he famously stole home in Game 1 of the '55 Series. The pinpoint photograph from a fantastic perspective is clear enough to make out Jackie's facial expression with his mouth agape, along with thousands of focused fans down the left field line.
This black and white original photo in pristine condition was printed off the original negative from the famous Dodgers photographer's camera many years later. It has been professionally framed with lovely white matting inside a thick wooden border (made of ash like most baseball bats). This exact framed photo was on display as part of the Barney Stein Photo Collection exhibit in 2001 at the Frick Art and Historical Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. (Certificate from this exhibit included on reverse side.)
