A fine snapshot image of The Babe presumedly taken at spring training in the 1930s. The Babe gazes at the camera while posing in his Yankees road uniform before a backdrop of tropical plants. The plants and the rather trimness of Ruth’s girth suggests the spring training setting to this photo. Interestingly, Ruth is wearing a pair of slippers instead of his cleats, adding a bit of originality to this snapshot. The front of the photo shows nice toning from age and pleasing contrast to the print. The back is blank except for a hand lettered “Babe Ruth.” A great informal photo of The Babe as he limbered up for another season with the Yanks. The photograph measures 2 ¾” x 4 1/2” and has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
