Addendum: This is a retail model bat.

In the shadows of Ruth and Gehrig, second baseman Tony Lazzeri was a mainstay on six Bronx Bomber pennant-winning squads—five of which went on to win the World Series. Presented here is a Hanna Batrite "TA66" model block-letter "LAZZERI" bat dating to the team's 1930s run of glory. Based in Athens, GA, the Hanna Manufacturing Company competed with Hillerich & Bradsby during the '30s for a share of the big league bat market and was able to lure stars like Hornsby, Gehrig and Lazzeri. The offered 36", 29-oz. weapon is made from top quality white ash and boasts a chiropteran motif on its pronounced center brand. The un-cracked lumber exhibits significant use throughout, with ball and cleat marks as well as a few minor dents near the barrel stampings.

According to renowned bat authenticator John Taube, this is a retail model bat as no factory records exist for a TA66 model being ordered by Lazzeri. However, it has essentially the same specifications of TA65 models used by Lazzeri from 1930-34. Comes with a MEARS Authentic sticker (303735) on knob.
