John McGraw was a baseball lifer, but is perhaps best known for his nearly three decades at the helm of the New York Giants. He led New York to 10 pennants and three World Series titles during his tenure, winning in 1905, 1921 and 1922. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers in baseball history. In this original 4 1/2" X 5" photograph designated Type 1 by PSA/DNA, McGraw is shown posing for yet another iconic Brown Brothers image. The photo shows some signs of aging, but McGraw himself is in very clear focus just left of the center of the canvas. An incredible moment over a century ago captured and encapsulated forever here.
