Featured is the highest graded example of the Dark Town Battery advertising trading card with an assessment of EX/NM 80 by SGC. This very well could be the only copy of this quality still in existence and is one of trade-card collecting's most highly revered extreme rarities. This high-grade copy is a rare advertising trade card for the famous Dark Town Battery bank and was produced by William Blair & Co. of Chicago. This might be the single rarest and most valuable of all bank advertising trade cards and all baseball trade cards. The cards were issued to promote the popular mechanical banks manufactured during the 1880's. You can find one of those mechanical coin banks offered in lot 172 of this very auction.
