Ken Griffey Jr., one of the newest members of the Baseball Hall of Fame, had a tremendous career, one in which he launched 630 home runs and drove in 1,836 runs. Though he never tasted a World Series victory, he did earn the American League MVP award in 1997 (.304 BA, 57 HR and 147 RBI) and pull down a total of 13 Gold Glove awards for his outstanding glove work in center field during his 22 seasons in the majors.

This lot features a Ken Griffey Jr. autographed and game-worn Seattle Mariners alternate baseball cap, circa 1997-98. While the actual season is in question, there’s no doubt that this was a cap worn by Griffey during his playing days in the Emerald City. The New Ear Diamond Collection Authentic tri-color cap (size 7, 100% wool) is sporting the official Mariners logo on the front and shows exceptional wear with specific sweat stains around the white inside liner. On the underside of the brim is written “JR” in black fine-point marker, while Griffey has signed the top of the silver brim in striking blue marker. His signature is strong and would rate 8-9/10 in our book.

Autograph is pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
