Michael Jordan's already incredible basketball career reached new heights during the 1990-91 NBA season when "His Airness" led the Chicago Bulls to the league championship after disposing of the perennial powerhouse Los Angeles Lakers in five games in the NBA Finals. It marked Michael's first NBA title and he would go on to win five more NBA titles and claim NBA Finals MVP awards at each juncture.
This lot features a pair of circa 1990-91 Chicago Bulls game-worn red, road shorts attributed to MJ. The size 36 Champion 100% mesh nylon shorts include proper manufacturer's tagging (and washing instructions) on the inside rear waistband adjacent to which rest a "Custom Designed and Sewn for CHICAGO BULLS" tag that includes the following qualifiers: "90" (Year), "+2" (Rise) and "0" (Inseam). Jordan's uniform number "23" is penned on the latter tag in black marker; this identifier is the only way we can attribute these to Jordan, as it was common for the Bulls trainer at that time to mark uniform pieces in this manner. The red shorts outlined in black and white includes the Bulls logo on either side and show moderate game wear. The original draw string (since turned pink through multiple washings) remains intact and all elements come essentially as-issued.
