The infamous Pete Rose may still be banned from the Baseball Hall of Fame for gambling, but that doesn’t negate his all-time MLB hits record of 4,256. Nicknamed “Charlie Hustle” by virtue of his all-out aggressive, win-at-all-costs style, Rose started his jaw-dropping MLB career with the Cincinnati Reds and played a total of 16 straight seasons in Cincy before departing for Philadelphia (1979-83), Montreal (1984) and then back to Cincinnati to close things out (1984-86). A phenomenal talent who collected 3,215 singles along the way, Rose remains a fan favorite across the country.

This lot features a circa 1971 Pete Rose autographed Cincinnati Reds game-worn baseball cap. The classic Wilson professional model red cap (size 7 5/8) is sporting the official Cincinnati “C” embroidered in white on the front and shows light game use. The inside white liner is relatively clean, while Rose’s trademark “14” can be found in black marker on the bottom of the brim. Rose signed the top of the brim in black marker and added “4256” beneath his signature. The year “1971” appears to the right of the autograph underlined and in quotes. The year indication does not appear to be in Rose’s hand.

Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
