Led by Hall of Famer Connie Hawkins and directed by Coach of the Year Vince Cazzetta, the 1967-68 Pittsburgh Pipers won the Eastern Division title and then faced off against the New Orleans Bucs in the ABA Finals. In a hard fought seven-game series, the Pipers emerged the victor to win the inaugural ABA Championship. The following year the Pipers relocated to Minnesota before moving back to Pittsburgh as the Condors. These heavy fleece warm-ups appear to have been utilized before the official "Minnesota Pipers" uniforms arrived for the start of the 1968-69 season. The offered example was worn by point guard Steve Vacendak out of Duke University. On the inside right front of the jacket is the Rawlings tag with the jacket size 44. Adjacent to that is an additional manufacturers tag with wash instructions on it. On the left breast is the official "Pipers" logo patch. On the right breast is the official "1967 1968 ABA Champions" patch. On the back of the jacket is "PITTSBURGH" over "PIPERS" in orange on white tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the player number "22" in orange tackle twill and orange-white-blue piping is present on each side. The jacket is completely original and unaltered and shows excellent wear. Super rare, early ABA warm-up that is sure to get some attention from the real basketball connoisseurs out there.

Inlcudes LOA from famed sports broadcaster Al Trautwig.
