NBA Hall of Famer Clyde Lovellette’s high school career was a harbinger of great things to come. His junior year saw the 6-9 giant leading Garfield High through an undefeated season all the way to the state championship where they finally fell short to Shelbyville in the final game. In 1948, his senior year, Lovellette distinguished himself in the annual High School All-Stars game against Kentucky where he won the leading scorer honors. Worn during his high school career, Clyde’s purple road jersey has “GARFIELD” arched above his number “16” in white tackle twill. The back features his number “16” in larger white tackle twill numbers. The jersey has no manufacturer’s label and displays good game use. There is toning throughout and some light staining. The purple body has slightly faded from repeated laundering and there are loose threads on the tackle twill graphics. Superb jersey from the Hall of Famer’s most formative years on the boards. Accompanied by an LOA from the family of Clyde Lovellette.
