Circa 1909 bird cage style catcher's mask attributed by the Helms Athletic Foundation to being worn by former major league catcher Jack Lapp. Lapp caught for the Philadelphia Athletics from 1980 through 1915 and in 1916 for the Chicago White Sox. Wire frame rusted but appears to be completely in tact. Straps and leather padding has badly deteriorated. Interesting piece of early catching equipment.
