In spite of the darkly toned surface of this black and red stitched ball, Babe Ruth's dark black ink signature projects boldly from the sweet spot in dark black ink (7/10). On the north panel, Lou Gehrig's autograph appears, fully legible (4/10), but to a lesser degree than the Babe's. Another illegible signature is faintly penned beneath Gehrig. The ball's stampings have diminished, but appear to be that of an official National League ball. While the Gehrig signature is a valuable enhancement, the ball displays nicely as a Ruth single.
