Presented here is a rare personal item of the Babe: Ruth's very own sterling silver hand mirror! The mirror features Ruth's monogram ("GHR") engraved on the reverse and was crafted by Reed and Barton (stamped on the handle). This mirror was originally obtained by legendary collector Barry Halper directly from Mrs. Ruth. Halper was very close with Ruth's widow, Claire and often attended Yankees Old Timers' Day games with her prior to her passing in 1976. During that time, Halper was gifted several items of Ruth's as tokens of her appreciationg for his kindness, including this mirror as part of a group of toiletry items that was sold in an REA auction in 2007. The mirror (5x8 inches) displays wear commensurate with its age and appears to have been used for many years by Babe. This a one of a kind Ruth item with stellar provenance and can even be used for it's original purpose to this day.
