Adapted from a classic photograph taken in his later career, this postcard-sized image of the legendary Babe Ruth provided an ideal vehicle to host the immortal's autograph. The 3-1/2” by 5-1/2” photograph is blank-backed and has been maintained in beautiful EX-MT to NM condition. This image of Ruth in pinstripes, completing his still mighty swing, features a broad upper border that is perfectly suited for signing. Seizing the opportunity, Ruth blessed this space with one of the boldest, most flawlessly rendered autographs you could hope for. The deep blue felt tip signature contrasts brilliantly with its bright white background. Its impeccable placement contributes to a spectacular overall aesthetic presentation. Writing on the back in an unknown hand, “Camp Kilmer N.J. – Hospital Ward Visit 1946,” suggests that Ruth likely bestowed this item to an infirmed child during a hospital visit, as he was often known to do. This a Ruth signed photo with an enormous “wow factor” and lots of charm.
