Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo had huge individual success at the start of what would be a well-traveled, yet fulfilling NBA career. McAdoo received the 1973 Rookie of the Year award followed by three consecutive scoring titles, including league MVP honors in '75, as a member of the Buffalo Braves. After a strong three-year stint with the Knicks, the 6' 9" scoring machine, who played both power forward and center, had breif stops in Boston, Detroit and New Jersey as he struggled with injuries and saw his starring roles gradually reduced. In 1981 McAdoo joined the Showtime L.A. Lakers and, in a supporting role, helped Magic and company get to four straight NBA Finals where he got two World Championship rings before his career came to an end.

Offered here is McAdoo's Los Angeles Lakers game-worn home jersey photo-matched to multiple games during the 1984-85 season, including Game 3 of the 1985 NBA Finals against their hated rivals from Boston. The Lakers prevailed 136-111 over the Celtics at The Forum that June 2nd evening to take a pivotal 2-1 series advantage. McAdoo had his best game of the series, pouring in 19 points on 9-16 from the floor with six rebounds and two blocks. He averaged 8.2 points and 3 boards off the bench during the series, helping the Lakers win in six games and finally beat Boston in The Finals for the first time in franchise history.

The jersey exhibits moderate game use and has been conclusively photo-matched by the experts at Resolution Photomatching, (Getty images 88196149 and 696607526) to the mesh holes alignment on the back numbers and letters. Includes LOA from Resolution Photomatching. Digital images of consignor's side-by-side photo-matching efforts available upon request.
