The 2020 Tampa Bay Rays season marked the team's 23rd year in existence. Since the team's last World Series appearance in 2008, the team made the playoffs four more times (2010, 2011, 2013, 2019) but had yet to return to the Fall Classic. That would all change in 2020, though, in a season that was shortened to 60 games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Rays posted a 40-20 record, which was best in the American League. The team won its first divisional title since 2011 and again advanced to the postseason.
Offered here is a Tampa Bay Rays staff member's 2020 AL Championship Ring. The Rays defeated the Houston Astros in a hard-fought seven-game American League Championship Series. The top of the 10K gold ring is a gold starburst — part of the team’s logo — embedded with a diamond background. "American League Champions 2020" encircles the perimeter of the logo. One shank features the staff member's last name "GROVER" with the Rays logo underneath. A diamond sits above and below the logo. The other shank features the words "AL EAST CHAMPIONS" with the Rays' 40-20 record and the American League logo below. The inside of the ring shows each of the Rays' postseason opponents leading up to the World Series and the number of games each team won. The ring size is 12 1/2 and it weighs 44 grams.
