Yadier Molina has been the best defensive catcher in baseball for
well over a decade. His streak of eight straight Gold Gloves ended in
2016, but as any MLB player or coach will tell you, Yadi still reigns
behind the dish. Calling games and throwing out baserunners from his
knees may be his specialties, but the guy can flat out hit, too. You
don't make the N.L. All-Star team nine times in the last ten years without putting up impressive offensive numbers. The .284 career hitter
who regularly catches 120-140 games per season has batted over .300 five
times and finished 4th or better in MVP voting twice.
Offered here is one of Yadier's game used bats from the 2015 season in
which the 2-time World Champ and future Hall of Famer helped lead his
St. Louis Cardinals to an MLB-best 100 wins.
The Marucci AP5-LDM Pro Model two-toned bat with a trimmed knob and cupped end to Yadi's custom preferences displays outstanding use. A plethora of ball marks and stitch impressions cover the barrel, along with black ink transfers and a water stain on the back barrel. The handle, which has a 7" crack, is moderately coated with pine tar. The manufacturing date (07/06/15), Molina's uniform No. 4, and the length (33.5") and weight codes (31.8 oz.) are all stamped in the knob.
Includes Game Used LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA.
