Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant was a unanimous pick for National League Rookie of the Year after he batted .275 with 26 home runs and 99 RBIs to go with a .369 on-base percentage in 2015. Bryant, at age 23, tied for the major league home run lead among first-year players while leading all full-time NL rookies in OBP, slugging and OPS. He led all NL hitters in strikeouts with 199 but came through when the Cubs needed it most, hitting .292 with a .417 on-base percentage with runners in scoring position.
From his prolific rookie season, we offer this Marucci model KB17.2 Kris Bryant professional model bat, with a cupped end, exhibiting evidence of outstanding use. The handle was broken into two pieces and has been secured with tape. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right and back barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers. Cleat marks can be seen on the left barrel. Also visible on the bat is an impression from a weighted batting donut and there is a moderate coat of Mota Stick on the handle. The mark visible on the handle identifies the face grain of the bat. This is a mandatory marking, per Major League Baseball, for all maple bats since January 2009. The date of manufacture (09/02/15), Bryant's number (17), length (4) and weight (1.0) are stamped into the knob. The model number (KB17.2), length (34) and weight (30.9) are written on the knob in black marker. Bryant's number (17) is also written on the top barrel in silver marker. Provenance: The bat has been authenticated by MLB Authentication Services and their holograms (JB098898, JB098899) are affixed to the front barrel and handle. The MLB Authentication database identifies this bat’s specific usage date of Sep. 30, 2015. Includes a LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (Grade GU8).
