When the Denver Nuggets selected Nikola Jokic in the 2nd round (#41 overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft, little did anyone know it was the steal of the century. The Serbian center didn’t even play in the NBA until the following season, opting to stick with KK Mega Basket of the Adriatic League in his home country for another year of grooming. As an NBA rookie in 2015-16, Jokic averaged 10 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes of action per game. He gradually won over the Nuggets coaching staff and his teammates as it became abundantly clear that this pudgy, 6’ 11” Serb could score, rebound, and see the floor unlike any big man ever before. His dominance and league-wide respect have grown to the point that, after winning back-to-back MVP awards and the 2023 NBA title for Denver, Nikola Jokic is widely considered the best basketball player in the world right now.
Featured here is a Nikola Jokic autographed 2015-16 Denver Nuggets road game jersey issued to him at the conclusion of his rookie season. Coming in the team’s classic ‘skyline blue’ colors, the Adidas Climacool shirt is properly tagged on the left front tail in size 2XL with a Length +2” flag tag. Across the chest is “DENVER” in gold tackle twill letters outlined in navy blue and white. His number “15” appears front and back in navy blue felt trimmed in gold tackle twill. “JOKIC” is arched across the upper back in navy blue. Jokic has signed the back ‘1’ in silver marker.
This jersey was presented to us as a rookie gamer, sourced from Jokic’s inner circle. The Adidas manufacturing tagging on the interior is dated “05/16” indicating production after the regular season. The Nuggets did not make the playoffs that year, so this would have been issued to Jokic to wear the following season. It shows very light evidence of wear with a few snags in the fabric. We are unsure if this shirt was ever worn in a game. Includes PSA/DNA COA for the signature.
