In 2011-12, Stephen Curry missed 56 games with an oft-injured right ankle playing for a bad Golden State Warriors team that finished 20 games below .500. Four years later, the point guard known as “Baby Faced Assassin” sits atop the basketball world as reigning 2014-15 league MVP and World Champion, with every indication that 2015-16 will bring the same exact outcome. He currently leads the NBA in scoring at 30 points per game and has helped the Warriors steamroll to a record-setting regular season on pace to surpass the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls’ 72 wins. “It’s gotta be the shoes,” right? Well, Under Armour certainly wants people to think so. Featured here is a game-worn and signed pair of Steph Curry’s first edition Under Armour signature model sneakers, the Curry One. He sported this pair during his breakout 2014-15 MVP and Championship campaign, and they come with impeccable provenance, backed by a letter from Steph himself as well as his exclusive memorabilia partner, Fanatics. The Warriors went 67-15 to set a franchise record in wins before cruising to a 16-5 playoff run that culminated in a Finals victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

These 'Curry Ones MI-30' sneakers come in a black/gray/white colorway with “SC” stamped in four places: the tongues, insoles, heels and outside toes. A large UA logo adorns the outer ankles and the outsoles. “MI-30” is stamped under the tongue underbellies, with "4V1" stamped on the lace-holder. The interior tagging has his size 12.5 with “PROD. MO. 10/20/14” to denote the manufacturing date. Under Armour specially designed the shoe for Curry’s surgically repaired ankle. It resembles a light weight midsole with high ankle support made of a flexible, durable exterior that allows Steph to make all his sharp cuts on the court without hesitation. Perhaps the coolest detail of the design is the creative message on the very bottom: a zig-zag line that traces his journey from his hometown of “CHARLOTTE” to college at “DAVIDSON” to the Warriors in “OAKLAND.” Steph has signed each shoe on the camouflaged exterior in 9/10 silver marker. And as he does only for gamers, he has inscribed “WSC” (Wardell Stephen Curry) on the right shoe, with “I Can do all things…” from bible verse “Romans 8:28” on the left, all in 8/10 black marker. Both shoes exhibit solid wear, with fabric fading on the insoles from sweating as well as appropriate heel drag and scuffing from on-court action.

Photo evidence on Getty indicates that Steph wore this same style for three games in March 2015: 3/8 vs. Clippers; 3/9 at Suns; and 3/11 vs. Pistons. Images from the March 8th Clippers home contest show the same inscriptions on each shoe in the same spots, but in our opinion it is not an exact photo match to that game when Steph made two highlight-reel shots over Chris Paul (see embedded video below). Most likely, the reigning MVP wore these for one of the latter two games. He is known to sometimes change his kicks at halftime if he's not shooting well or needs better traction.

With his unlimited range, spectacular ball-handling, and creative shot-making ability, Curry has become a transformative figure for the game of basketball. Unlike the 6’9” 250 lb. physically-imposing LeBron James, Curry is a 6’3” 185 lb. everyman that the rest of the human race can relate to and kids can more realistically aspire to be. Here’s a rare opportunity to own not just the game-worn shoes of arguably the most popular athlete on the planet, but also Under Armour’s first release of the rising brand’s groundbreaking sneaker line many are comparing to the Air Jordan I in terms of cultural and monetary significance.

Includes LOA signed by Stephen Curry and COA hologram sticker (568916) from Fanatics Authentic, his exclusive memorabilia provider. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
