When the Denver Nuggets selected Nikola Jokic in the 2nd round (#41 overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft, little did anyone know it was the steal of the century. The Serbian center didn’t even play in the NBA until the following season, opting to stick with KK Mega Basket of the Adriatic League in his home country for another year of grooming. As an NBA rookie in 2015-16, Jokic averaged 10 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes of action per game. He gradually won over the Nuggets coaching staff and his teammates as it became abundantly clear that this pudgy, 6’ 11” Serb could score, rebound, and see the floor unlike any big man ever before. His dominance and league-wide respect have grown to the point that, after winning back-to-back MVP awards and the 2023 NBA title for Denver, Nikola Jokic is widely considered the best basketball player in the world right now.

Featured here is a rare pair of Nikola Jokic dual-signed pre-NBA rookie shoes from his 2014-15 and final season with his former Serbian club, KK Mega Basket (renamed Mega Leks in Nov. 2014 for sponsorship reasons). Jokic averaged 15.4 points and led the Adriatic League (now called the ABA) in rebounds with 9.3 per game. With so few images available from the Serbian Pro League, we cannot confirm if these Nike Hyperdunk sneakers were worn in a game, but they do match his style from that season and are properly tagged underneath the tongues. Coming in size 15, the gray colorways display light wear with the insoles removed. Jokic has signed the upper ankles of both shoes in bold black marker with his No. "15" inscribed. The shoes were sourced from his inner circle and includes a letter from Sports Investors Authentication and two PSA/DNA COAs for each signature.
