The Russia National Team placed third in the 2005 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championships. Russia beat Finland in the quarterfinals before losing to Canada in the semifinal round. Russia then beat Sweden 6-3 in the Bronze Medal round for their third place spot.

25 members of the 2005 IIHF Russia National Hockey Team have signed the jersey in black marker including hockey legends Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, and Pavel Datsyuk. Other notable signees included are Andrei Markov (2x AS, 990 games played), Illya Kovalhuck (1st Russian #1 draft pick, 2x AS, 926 games played), Alexi Kovalev (3x AS, 1x AS MVP, 1316 games played). Other NHL draftees include Dmitri Kalinin, Maxim Afinogenov, Victor Kozlov, and Alexander Semin.

The Team Russia red jersey has the national eagle crest on the chest above “RUSSIA” in Cyrillic letters. Blue and white striping runs along the bottom and upper chest of the jersey and the blue collar is enclosed with a white drawstring. The inside collar has a size “58” Nike label along with an IIHF label.

Each shoulder has Zvyagin’s number “40 and a blue and white “Zepter” patch. The back has “ZVYAGIN” in white on a red nameplate above his number “40” in blue and white between two blue and white stripes. An IIHF” label is sewn along the bottom right edge. The jersey shows no visible game use, and the signatures are bold and legible against the red jersey front. This jersey comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA.
