On October 27, 2004, the Boston Red Sox reversed the curse of the Great Bambino and won their first World Series titles in 86 years. It was a glorious time in Beantown and throughout all of New England as the Red Sox won Game 4 at Busch Stadium by the score of 3-0 to sweep the vaunted National League Champion St. Louis Cardinals in four straight. Right-handed sinker ball pitcher Derek Lowe got the win and Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez was named series MVP of the Fall Classic. “From Cursed to First” the Fenway Faithful’s prayers were finally answered. Baseball’s centennial World Series saw Boston’s players erase nearly nine decades of frustration with the convincing domination of Albert Pujols and company.

This magnificent 2004 Boston Red Sox World Championship size 14 ring was presented to a member of the Rex Sox organization, Antonio Diaz. Cast in 18K white gold, the top of the ring features a perimeter channel containing 56 round brilliant cut diamonds. Inside this diamond bezel is "WORLD CHAMPIONS" in relief on a black background. Centered on the top of the ring is an inlaid Boston Red Sox "B" in 10 custom cut and fitted rubies, over four round brilliant cut diamonds which are themselves over 14 princess cut diamonds in the shape of a baseball diamond. This baseball diamond is set on a field of four custom faceted synthetic blue sapphires. On the left shank is "Greatest Comeback In History 2004" in relief on a black background, paying tribute to the Red Sox erasing a three-games-to-none deficit to the New York Yankees in the 2004 American league Championship Series and turning it into a four-games-to-three victory.

Beneath this is a pair of red enameled Boston Red Sox "socks" and beneath that an engraved banner that reads "8 Straight" to recognize Boston’s eight consecutive victories in the ALCS and World Series. On the right shank is a panel with the recipient's name “DIAZ” and "BB-OPS" in relief on a black background. Beneath this is a rendering of Fenway Park, above "40" noting the Sox 4-0 World Series sweep of the Cardinals. On the inside of the ring is engraved "86 Years, 10-27-04, Jostens 18K." The ring is in beautiful condition. The ring comes with its original presentation box with an etched glass lid that reads "2004 WORLD CHAMPIONS." Inside it has an an engraved silver nameplate that reads "Antonio Diaz 2004". Metal inlay on front reads "WORLD SERIES 2004". Ring size is 10 3/4; its weight is 78 grams. An esteemed commemoration of an historical and unforgettable season.
