In 2003, the Oakland Raiders met the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who were led by former Oakland head coach Jon Gruden, in Super Bowl XXXVII in San Diego. The game was defined by the Tampa Bay defense, as they intercepted Oakland quarterback Rich Gannon a Super Bowl-record five times, returning three of them for touchdowns in the Buccaneers 48-21 victory.
