MLB slugger Albert Pujols began his career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2001 when he was named the National League’s Rookie of the Year. This lot features his game-worn 2003 St. Louis Cardinals road jersey from a season in which he finished second in the N.L. balloting for MVP honors after batting a league-leading .359 with 212 hits with 51 doubles, 43 home runs and 137 runs scored. He finished in the runner-up position behind San Francisco Giants super start Barry Bonds.

The Authentic Collection Majestic gray jersey (size 50) shows proper tagging on the left front tail with the manufacturer’s tag as well as a strip tag reading “50.” The elegant chenille Cardinals two-bird logo with yellow bat above the cursive "Cardinals" appears on the front of the 100% polyester jersey. The club’s red tackle twill letters (“PUJOLS”) on the back and the number (“5”) on the front and back. The MLB logo patch appears on the back of the collar. The jersey displays well and only shows slight fraying of his name and numbers. A true piece of baseball memorabilia from a player who looks to be the newest member of MLB’s prestigious “600 Home Run Club.” Entering the 2016 season, the 36-year-old Pujols has 560 round-trippers to his credit.
