The only pitcher to have more wins in the 1990s than Tom Glavine was teammate Greg Maddux. Glavine won 164 to Maddux’s 176. Glavine won 20 or more games five times and took home the Cy Young Award twice. The Braves legend wore this jersey during his 2002 season in which he won 18 games. The jersey has been definitively photo matched to the August 14th game against San Francisco. In the game, Glavine won his 16th of the season, pitching 7 innings of shutout ball against the Giants. Manny Spooneybarger and Smoltz came in to close out the game as Atlanta won, 1-0. The home white jersey displays the famed “Braves” logo across the chest in red and navy tackle twill above the tomahawk in red, navy and gold tackle twill. Navy and red trim encircle the sleeve openings and run down the front. The Russell label is sewn on the front left tail with “1” EXTRA BODY LENGTH,” “+1” SLEEVE LENGTH,” size “46” and “1-02” strip tags affixed. The back has “GLAVINE” in navy tackle twill on a white name plate above his number “47” in red and navy tackle twill. The jersey shows good game use with some puckering and loose threads on the tackle twill graphics from laundering. The jersey comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication for the game used authenticity and a worksheet detailing the photo match.
