Featured here is Ronnie Lott's game helmet worn as a member of the New York Jets in either 1993 or 1994. The standout defensive back out of USC is more known for his ten outstanding seasons in San Francisco to start his career, where he made 9 of his 10 Pro Bowls and helped lead the 49ers to four Super Bowls during their 1980's decade of dominance. After another stellar two-year stint across the bay with the Oakland Raiders, Lott played two seasons for the Jets before a final year with the Chiefs in 1995. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000, the first year he was eligible. Lott is considered by most experts the best safety to ever play the game.

This Schutt 'AiR' model size 'L' helmet employs the brand's unique foam cushion and air bladder padding system. The green shell with two Jets logo decals shows excellent game use throughout, with punctures, scratches and other contact marks rubbed off receivers that dared go over the middle and take a vicious hit from the 5-time 1st team All-Pro. It comes with a black-coated facemask that has several gashes from Lott's punishing blows. The original Schutt chinstrap is in fine condition, but clearly shows wear. A 'JETS' logo sticker covers the 'AiR' model logo on the front bumper, but "AiR" is stamped on the rear neck pad. Stickers with Lott's number "42" adorn the rear of the shell, surrounded by the NFL shield logo and the warning label. A splendid example of game-use from one of the NFL's all-time greats.

Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
