During the 1992-93 NBA season, Seattle SuperSonics 6' 10" power forward extraordinaire Shawn “Reign Man” Kemp rained down on opponents with his thunderous dunks as he averaged 17.8 points per game. This lot features the crowd-pleasing dunk master’s game worn home jersey from that season in which the 55-27 Sonics were one win away from facing the Bulls in the NBA Finals. Any Sonics jersey from the early-mid 1990's is now considered a
collector's item, especially one hailing from perhaps the team's most popular and exciting player ever.
Across the front of the white mesh jersey reads “SONICS”. Across the back reads his last name “KEMP”. Both of these are painted in white on a green cloth stripe. A “Champion [size] 48” manufacturer’s label with laundry instructions appears on the left front tail alongside another “Champion” tag reading “1992-93 DESIGNED & TAILORED EXCLUSIVELY FOR SEATTLE SUPERSONICS” and "Body Length +4". On the left chest is an official “NBA” logo embroidered in red, white and blue. His player number “40” appears on both the front and on the back painted in green with a yellow border on the white mesh jersey. Kemp signed the back of the jersey in black fine-tip marker and added “#40” next to his last name. In our opinion the signature rates a 7/10. This jersey is properly tagged and shows adequate wear. The provenance is about as good as it gets.
Includes LOA from former NBA player Coby Karl, son of longtime SuperSonics coach George Karl. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph).
