During the 1992-93 NBA season, Charles Barkley played out of his mind. It marked his first year with the Phoenix Suns after eight grueling campaigns in Philadelphia, and Barkley made the most of his new locale by leading the Suns to the NBA Finals and winning league MVP honors. The "Round Mound of Rebound" averages 25.6 points, 12.2 boards and a career-high 5.1 assists that season.
This lot features Barkley’s game worn and dual signed Nike Air Force Max shoes from that memorable campaign. The black leather "NIKE" (size 16) shoes each feature the manufacturer's trademark "swoosh" (purple in this case) on one side and thick soles comprised of black, white and clear rubber. Both tongues read “AIR MAX,” while both Velcro tightening strips on the front of both shoes reading “FORCE” in purple. His uniform number “34” is embroidered in purple to the outside of both shoes. In silver marker, Sir Charles has signed each shoe on the side and added “4” (his eventual uniform number) with both signatures ranking 8/10 in our book. The pair shows excellent game use and stem from one of Barkley's finest NBA seasons.
