During the 1992-93 NBA season, Charles Barkley played out of his
mind. It marked his first year with the Phoenix Suns after eight
grueling campaigns in Philadelphia, and Barkley made the most of his new
locale by leading the Suns to the NBA Finals and winning league MVP
honors. The "Round Mound of Rebound" averages 25.6 points, 12.2 boards
and a career-high 5.1 assists that season.
This lot features Barkley’s 1992-93 Phoenix Suns game worn home jersey. The white jersey boasts a purple and orange design printed on the chest, as well as “SUNS” and his number “34” sewn on in purple on black tackle twill. “BARKLEY” and a second “34” are sewn on the back of the jersey in purple on black tackle twill. The sleeve and collar openings are accented in purple and orange, and a NBA logo patch is sewn on the right shoulder. “1992-93 Designed & Tailored Exclusively for Phoenix Suns,” “Body Length +2” and “Champion [size] 52” with laundry instructions tags are sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. The jersey shows a moderate level of wear and Barkley has signed the front in black marker with “Best Wishes” and “34" added. One of the finer examples from his lone MVP campaign to surface, and hobby-fresh!
Includes LOA from former NBA player Coby Karl, son of longtime
NBA head coach George Karl. Includes COA from PSA/DNA (AE81133) for autograph.
