The 1991 MLB season saw the debut of a home run slugger by the name of Jim Thome. Playing in 21 games that year for the Cleveland Indians, Thome hit his first big league home run and collected 25 hits overall in 98 at-bats. It would mark the professional start of a player who went on to belt 612 career home runs over his 22-year tenure in the major leagues that ended in 2012. This lot features Thome’s rookie season autographed Cleveland Indians game-worn road jersey. The size 46 Rawlings gray jersey has the manufacturer’s tagging sewn on the inside back collar with supplemental tagging reading “T” and "91 1" to indicate year and set number. An embroidered "Chief Wahoo" patch appears on the left sleeve. The name "CLEVELAND" adorns the front in navy on red tackle twill and the number “25” is positioned in red tackle twill across the left breast. “THOME” and his number "25" are sewn on the back in navy on blue tackle twill. According to Grey Flannel, who auctioned this jersey in 2003, there has been a nameplate change on the back. Jersey shows light to moderate use. Thome signed the front of the jersey in black marker.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
