The 1990's Yankees started with the '90 team finishing in last place in the AL East (only the fourth time in franchise history), followed by two more losing seasons. In 1993, they finished with a very respectable 88-74 record. And in 1994, with the Yanks comfortably in first place (70-43), a strike cancelled the rest of the season leaving poor Don Mattingly out of the playoffs once again.
