The perennially powerful San Francisco 49ers were considered the best team in the NFL in 1989. Coming off an impressive 20-16 win over the AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII, the Niners entered the regular season more than ready to repeat the feat. After going 14-2 and winning the NFC Western Division, the 49ers squared off against the AFC Champion Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV. Not only did they win their second consecutive Super Bowl, but they trounced the Broncos 55-10 to set a new Super Bowl record for the greatest margin of victory. This awesome condition 1990 Super Bowl XXIV World Championship 10K Gold ring, displays very light use, and was awarded to 49er offensive guard Jeff Bregel. A consensus All-America selection two years in a row at USC, Bregel was taken in the second round by the 49ers and played three years with the team from 1987 to ‘89. He played in 21 games and started three of them. The beautifully designed ring has four large football shaped diamonds set atop a field of real diamonds surrounded by "81, 84, 88, 89 FORTY NINERS" to signify the team’s Super Bowl wins. One side has "BREGEL” above a raised image of the Golden Gate Bridge supported by four Super Bowl trophies. Below is "SAN FRANCISCO 17-2" which reflects the team’s overall record. The other side has "88 BACK TO BACK 89", "55-10" and the Super Bowl XXIV logo with the roman numerals in red enamel. Inside is stamped "10K JOSTENS.” The original wood presentation box – in magnificent condition – has metal inlaid strip with "SF" logo on top. Inside top lid is "SUPER BOWL XXIV" in red, white, and blue. Bottom section has metal plate that reads "SAN FRANCISCO FORTY NINERS SUPER BOWL XXIV CHAMPIONS JEFF BREGEL.” The Jostens sticker is present on box bottom. The ring size is 16 and its overall weight is 48 grams.
