These were two in a series of studio photographs taken by John Paschal during the filming of a commercial for Toyota. Taken in August of 1989, Mike Tyson was at the top of the boxing world and the most feared pugilist to come along in decades. The images of Iron Mike have the champ demonstrating his "Peek-a-Boo" technique, which, when paired with his devastating uppercut, made him all but unstoppable. The tasteful studio lighting, razor sharp clarity, and artful composition makes this and the others taken during the 1989 session the most visually appealing of any of Tyson in his prime. The images have been printed to the edges and shows some surface abrasions. The reverse of both has a John Paschal Celebrity Photo stamp and the original August 4, 1989-dated caption slug affixed. The photographs measure 7” x 9” and have been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
