The 1988 MLB season was a memorable one for the Los Angeles Dodgers as a squad that was picked to finish fourth wound up winning the World Series, beating the heavily favored New York Mets in the NLCS and the juggernaut Oakland Athletics in the Fall Classic. Kirk Gibson carried the Dodgers offense, winning the National League Most Valuable Player Award, while Orel Hershiser dominated on the mound, throwing a record 59 consecutive scoreless innings on his way to winning the N.L. Cy Young Award. And through it all, the man at the helm remained Dodgers’ longtime Manager Tommy Lasorda.

This lot features Lasorda’s double-signed L.A. Dodgers game-worn road manager’s jersey from that unforgettable season. The Rawlings size 48 jersey shows minor game use and is problem free, with blazing Dodger blue tackle twill scripted "Dodgers" outlined in white angled across the chest and red tackle twill No. 2 on the chest. The Rawlings manufacturer’s tag is located on the inside rear collar accompanied by a flag tag reading: “Set 1 1988.” On the reverse is his last name "LASORDA" and his No. 2 both in blue tackle twill outlined in white. Lasorda has signed the jersey in two areas; the first autograph appears in black marker on the right chest with the inscription “Good luck,” while the second signature can be found on the back in silver on the bottom of the jersey number “2.” Remnants of an adhesive once used to display the jersey can be seen on the back near both shoulders.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
