During the 1986-87 NBA season, the Houston Rockets were led by the great Akeem "The Dream" Olajuwon at center. They finished the regular season with a record of 42-40, good enough for third in the Midwest Division standings. In the playoffs, they defeated the Portland Trail Blazers in the opening round before bowing to the Seattle SuperSonics in the Western Conference semi-finals, four games to two.

This lot features a dual-signed pair of game-worn Etonic shoes attributed to the Rockets May 14th playoff game that season against the SuperSonics. The 128-125 outcome ended the series in favor of Seattle despite the fact that Olajuwon poured in a game-high 49 points on 19-for-33 shooting (57%) from the field and added a game-high 25 rebounds. Both red-and-white shoes with yellow highlights show outstanding game use and include Olajuwon's signature in faded blue marker on the outside edge of both high-top shoes. Either tongue reveals a special "Etonic Akeem Olajuwon 'The Dream'" sewn-on white label with red lettering. The size 16 shoes reveal special markings in blue ink on either heal that reads: "49 Points 25 Rebounds" to indicate they were the shoes from his memorable night out on the floor.

Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
