Rather than detail the long list of personal and team accomplishments Dennis "DJ" Johnson had during his Hall of Fame career, we will let his former Boston Celtics teammate sum it up.
During an ESPN Throwback interview with Magic Johnson, the former Los Angeles Lakers star asked his Celtics rival Larry Bird who the best player he ever played with was.
“Probably Dennis Johnson, but it’s close between Kevin (McHale) and Dennis Johnson,” Bird said. “They’re two different types of players. I always thought if we really needed something big, Dennis was always shooting 44 percent during the regular season and then 60 in the playoffs. Kevin was incredible. You know, you played against him. But D.J. was a guy I loved to play with. He thought the same way I did and he was pretty good.”
That's some high praise from "Larry Legend."
Proudly presented here is a Dennis Johnson 1987-88 Boston Celtics game worn home jersey, a classic white Sand Knit size 46 model with tagging noting the season and that is was made exclusively for the Celtics.
