"The Kid" proudly wore this marvelous blue pinstriped Mets home jersey during the season that stamped this club for all time, 1986, when expectations collided with a fateful ground ball that helped propel the Mets to the Promised Land. Showing the kind of game use you might expect from an 11-time All-Star backstop, this jersey from the beloved Hall of Famer holds a special place in club history. Carter added to the historic import with a blue Sharpie autograph on the front beneath the famed scripted "Mets," adding the "1986 World Champs" inscription below. The jersey has the appropriate Size 44 W.A. Goodman & Sons white tag on the lower front tail; the club's 25th anniversary patch appears on the left sleeve in the same outstanding condition as all the other elements. As noted, the shirt is in super condition, with just the slightest bit of fraying of some of the stitching on the his blue and orange name on the back or the Mets script or his No. 8 front and back. For the legion of eager collectors from this illustrious franchise, finding a gamer like this from the great Hall of Fame catcher makes in an unmatched artifact.
