Pete Rose holds the all-time MLB career hits record with 4,256. His momentous 4,000th hit came on April 13, 1984, the year he used the glove offered here. Rose’s Mizuno Go15 model fielder’s glove shows substantial game use. It is constructed with Mizuno’s blue tanned steer hide with blue tanned laces. The glove shows extensive wear throughout the pocket area, face of the webbing and the body. The wrist strap label is frayed and worn. Perspiration staining is present on the wrist strap and inside the glove. This glove is a notch above a standard Pete Rose gamer due to the inscription found on the inside of the pinky finger. Pete has signed his name there and inscribed “Hit-4000th.” Though that inscription from Rose may suggest otherwise, this glove was not worn during his historic 4,000th-hit game. It was, however, worn during that same season. Regardless, this is an incredibly unique piece worn by Rose as he neared Ty Cobb’s legendary career hits record. The glove comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00696) for the game use and a LOA from JSA (BB80401) for the signature and inscription.
