Presented in this lot is a George Brett Kansas City Royals game used home jersey from the 1983 MLB season. The white size 44 jersey reads "ROYALS" across the chest along with "5" on the lower-left portion of the front side of the jersey. The rear reads "BRETT" and a large "5" in blue tackle twill. A Wilson manufacturing tag can be found inside the collar of the jersey. An "83" patch is visible on the lower left-hand portion of the jersey denoting the year that the jersey was used. This exemplar shows excellent signs of wash and game wear throughout with light staining and a few loose threads. Brett had an impressive 1983 campaign with the Kansas City Royals racking up 25 homers, 95 RBIs, and 144 hits during his 8th All-Star season. Brett was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999 and has one of the most decorated careers in MLB history (1980 AL MVP, 13 All-Star appearances, 3x batting average champion (1976,1980,1990), 3x slugging % champion (1980, 1983, 1985), 3x hit leader (1975, 1976, 1979).
