Presented here is an authentic 1982 Dale Murphy Atlanta Braves game worn home jersey. The white official Wilson baseball jersey features a V-neck style and reads "BRAVES" across the chest with the number "3" below denoting Murphy's number. The size 44 Wilson tagging can be seen on the inner collar, which is consistent with other exemplars. The rear of the jersey reads "MURPHY" and a large "3" in the center of the back. An "82" patch has been sewn in on the bottom left of the jersey denoting the year that the jersey was used. The Braves squad put together an impressive campaign during the 1982 MLB season, finishing with an 89-73 record and placing atop the NL West. Led by Murphy, who received MLB NL MVP honors for his efforts on the field that year, the Braves entered the playoffs versus the St. Louis Cardinals only to come up short (swept 3-0). Murphy had an incredible '82 season, winning NL MVP, tying with Al Oliver for the RBI title (109), and receiving a Silver Slugger Award. In his second All-Star season (1982), Murphy hit 36 homers while batting .281 in all 162 games. Murphy finished his career with 398 homers and 1,266 RBIs.
